Dauphinoise potatoes with Timson Cheese
Serves 6 people
1lb. potatoes
butter as needed
1 pinch nutmeg
1 clove garlic
4 oz. Timson cheese, grated
12 oz. heavy cream
salt and pepper
Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices
Place a single layer of potatoes in a well-buttered baking dish
Season with chopped garlic, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Sprinkle on a thin layer of cheese
Add another layer of potatoes, seasoning and cheese and repeat until all the potatoes and cheese are used
Heat the cream to a simmer and pour it over the potatoes
Add small dices of butter on top
Bake uncovered at 350F until potatoes are tender and golden brown, approximately 50-60 minute
