Chef Jon Ashton's interest in cooking began at an early age in his grandmother's cottage kitchen in Liverpool, England. Granny Ashton taught Jon the joy of cooking and her personal credo always share with others. Many fond memories were formed not only from the tasty meals, but from the emotions surrounding those meals.
In 1994, Jon graduated from St. Helens College in Great Britain and worked in several renowned hotel restaurants including the Derby Lodge and The Kirkfield. Jon's experience and success in the kitchen earned him appearances on nationally syndicated British cooking shows including "TV Dinners," where the audience fell in love with his wit and love of food.
America soon discovered him and featured Jon in several publications from New York to California. Jon produced and starred in his own television show, "The Mad Chef." After being recognized on this show, Jon took a position as regular mid-day chef on Orlando's FOX affiliate station and appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.
Currently, Jon is the CEO of Jon Ashton Enterprises and produces his own week-day cooking segment with Orlando's NBC affiliate WFTV. He also offers his professional services including media appearances, group demonstrations and recipe creation for a variety of clients including Kitchen Aid, Walt Disney World, Cabot Creamery, George Forman and The J.M. Smucker Company.
Jon continuously hungers to learn more about the culinary world. He believes food is a social exchange that connects people and food is a universally understood language that speaks to one senses through aroma, taste and sight. Jon longs to share his passion for cooking which naturally extends into his passion for living a good life.
Remembering his grandmother's advice to share with others, Jon gives back to causes that are close to his heart including "Give Kids the World" , the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
