Walter Dunphy
Executive Chef, Boston University

Walter Dunphy is the District Executive Chef for Boston University (B.U.) in Boston, Massachusetts. Overseeing a culinary staff of several hundred and serving over 30,000 meals daily in 10 campus dining locations. While leading all culinary initiatives campus-wide and the supervision of a catering staff that executes more than 4,000 events annually.

Prior to joining the B.U. team, Chef Dunphy served as Campus Executive Chef for Brandies University in Waltham, Massachusetts and Campus Executive Chef for Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In a career that has passed the 20-year mark, Chef Dunphy has had the opportunity to serve a number of dignitaries and celebrities including President George W. Bush, poet and author Maya Angelou, First Lady Barbara Bush, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole, Prince of Jordan El Hassan Bin Talal, Oprah Winfrey, and author Pat Conroy.

Chef Dunphy received the award of Culinary Excellence 2005 and the ACE International Guest Chef Award 2005. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation and holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina.
